1. What this extension does

pon-blocksite is a Chrome extension that blocks access to sites the user designates. When the user tries to visit a blocked site, they are redirected to a landing page that includes advertisements.

2. What we do not collect

This extension does not collect email addresses, names, phone numbers, or any similar personal information. It does not collect or transmit browsing history.

3. Data stored

• Blocklist: The domains and subdomain settings the user registers. By default they are stored only on the device (in the browser's local storage).
• When using sync: The user's optional chosen username (no password required) is used as a key to store the blocklist on our server. This lets the user apply the same settings on other browsers or devices. The username can be any string; it does not identify the user personally.

4. About the ads

The block landing page shows ads served by third-party ad networks. No personal information or browsing history is passed from this extension to any ad provider.

5. Deleting data

Uninstalling the extension deletes the data stored on your device. Data synced to our server can be deleted from the "Delete server data" button inside the extension.

6. Purpose of permissions

• storage: Storing the blocklist.
• declarativeNetRequest: Redirecting requests to blocked sites to the landing page.
• activeTab: Pre-filling the input with the domain of the current tab, for convenience.
• Host permissions: Applying block rules on any site the user designates.

7. Analytics

The pon-blocksite website (pon-blocksite.com) uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate usage. Google Analytics uses cookies to identify users but does not collect personally identifying information. Data is processed according to Google's privacy policy.
